He works in the NHS as part of the Shoulder Unit at St George’s hospital in south London, one of London’s four major trauma centres.

His elective practice encompasses the full range of shoulder and elbow surgery from joint replacement for arthritis to arthroscopic repairs from dislocating shoulders and other sports injuries. Mr Tennent trained at the shoulder unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore before spending a year learning advanced arthroscopic techniques in Richmond Virginia USA with some of the pioneers of arthroscopic shoulder surgery.   He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and the European Shoulder and Elbow Society (SECEC)
